This near-mint divider tool is made of pressed steel, and has the knurled knob on the side for fine-tuning the setting. The hinge is marked on one side "W.S. Co., New Haven, Conn." with LODI farther down the arm. This would be the Wm. Schollhorn Company. I don't know what LODI trefers to. The other side is stamped "Patented Oct. 17, 1905 and Dec. 5, 05". The first of these is No. 801,965, issued to Wm. Bernard and assigned to the Wm. Schollhorn Co. for the design from pressed steel. The second is No. 806,627, also to Berhard for an improvement; Specifically, addition of a spring inside the folded arm, bearing against the fine-adjusting nut. The Wm. Schollhorn company is probably best known for a variety of parallel-jawed pliers for special purposes. This tool, which is in very good condition, has arms 6 1/2 in. long, with good points, and opens to span just under 9 in. A nice tool from a well- respected maker. Shipping is estimated at $2.36 by First Class in the U.S. NOTE: See my seller page for other tools.
