You are bidding on an Antique Rare The Mirror of Life Book. The title pages of this book read The Mirror of Life. Edited by Mrs. L. C. Tuthill. Philadelphia: Lindsay and Blakiston 1848. Entered, according to Act of Congress, in the year 1847, by Lindsay & Blakiston, In the Clerk's Office of the District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. The Preface of the book says the intent of the book is to present to the view of its readers the various stages of life's progress, from the first dawnings of infancy to old age. The matter is from favourite Authors of our own country. The plates are from pictures or designs by American Artists, never before engraved and were prepared expressly for this Work. Presenting thus an array of talent, in the letterpress and the embellishments. This book is beautiful but does show definate wear from its age. You can see details in the pictures provided. The book is beautiful and is covered with gold embellishment. The book edge pages are gold as well on all three sides. This book is a wonderful addition to your collection.
