Heavy Mission period oak chair with tacked in leather spring seat. Signed Sikes Chair, Buffalo Branch, Buffalo, New York. Very beefy thick quarter sawn back and legs, with a single slat under each arm give it a strong arts and crafts look very much like a smaller scale Eastwood arm chair by Gustav Stickley. Looks to be an original finish. Sikes was one of the many New York State companies of the time manufacturing mission oak furniture and was a contemporary of the Brothers Stickley, Limbert and Roycroft. Rock solid construction and ready for your home. W do you find them? You will love this chair in a bungalow, stickley, roycroft or similar arts and crafts home and would work well in an entrance hall. This chair is for pick up only in St. Petersburg, Florida or, if prepaid, can be delivered free of charge the third weekend in February to the Arts and Crafts Conference at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina. I can also assist by taking it to a local pack and ship for wrapping and delivery if needed. Don't bid if this is a problem. Florida buyers must pay 7% sales tax or provide a valid Florida tax number. See our other auctions for similar items. This is a no reserve auction so ask any questions before bidding and good luck!
