Up for auction is an authentic fabulous vintage Mission, tile-topped table. The table top is an octagan and is 22 inches wide. The beautiful orange and green poppies on a black tile background measure 19 inches across. The table stands 19 inches tall. The table is marked in chalk on the bottom: "216 Poppy m 19 - 87 H 1 C" It was made sometimes around 1930. I believe one of the legs has been repaired and I have two pictures that show that repair. The table feels very sturdy but the buyer should have this table looked at, given its value. The wood table top that surrounds the tile also shows signs of use and wear and I have provided several pictures to provide you with an accurate view of the top. Although I have researched this table, I could not determine the tile maker. I am sure it is a California tile company, given the subject, finish, and style but I could not locate the poppy tiles in the references I looked at. Maybe someone who is looking could provide additional information.
