Hello and thank you for checking out my auction for this art book titled Mobile Suit Gundam Story Book TV Edition, Vol. 4 , this is the 5th edition that was printed the year after the book was originally published in 1981 by Kodansha (Romanized as "Kodansya" in the book), a major Japanese publisher of anime books. This is the last book in a 4-book series that spans the entire Mobile Suit Gundam TV series, and covers episodes 37-43. It is different from the 3 book series that covers the movie trilogy released later. The book contains over 120 pages (using the convention applied by the publisher, it'd be 130 pages as they count the front and back covers, and the fold-out poster accounted for 6 pages due to it being folded twice), 24 of which were printed in black and white (the line arts section) and the rest were printed on glossy pages and in full colors. Below is a breakdown of this book's contents. All text is printed in Japanese, with some captions and headings in English: * Two-sided fold-out poster, on one side is an original illustration titled Gundam is Living on My Mind (the inside of front cover accounted for the top part of the illustration, please see the 2nd photo), and the back side features photos of a 1/100 scale Zaku II (Romanized as Zak in the book) model custom-painted by Kunio Okawara, the mecha designer who created the now classic cannon fodder (please see the 3rd photo). Note how the detailing and color scheme bears a striking similarity to the "Real Type" 1/100 scale Zaku II model kit released in the early 1980s. * Story Digest for episodes 37-43, featuring screen shots of key scenes and other rarely seen shots (please see the 4th and 5th photo). This accounts for over 90 pages of the book and incomes some brief "column"s in between some of the episodes that are usually 1 or 2 pages long, such as a collection of background plates used throughout the entire TV series (not just the 7 episodes featured in this book, see photo #6) or an overview of the Star One Operation, where it fits with other campaigns and operations covered in the show, and a Zeon organization chart (see photo #7). * Line Art collection: the black and white section featuring the design line drawings for the mobile suits, mobile armors, characters, warships and other elements seen in the last 7 episodes, plus a section on line arts from previous episodes that were not included in the 3 previous volumes, such as a detailed collection of line arts for the White Base (see photo #8-11). This book is previously owned and shows a lot of wear all around. Besides heavy surface wear on the front and back covers, there is also a small crease line at the upper left corner of the front cover, plus a much larger crease line that goes across the upper right quadrant of the back cover. The corners of the back cover also show wear from creasing. The pages inside are also slightly warped/bumped/creased at the corners. Book is complete and otherwise in decent shape given its age (over 30 years old). Book dimensions measure approximately 8.2 x 10" (20.9 x 25.4cm). This book has been part of a non-smoking residence for over a decade and will be sent to you from the same location.
