Mocha or yellowware chamber pot with seaweed decoration. The majority of pieces are plain and do not have a mfg. name. Primarily made in the USA, England and Canada. This utilitarian ware was popular from the mid nineteenth until the early 20th century. Yellowware was first produced in N.Y. Pa. and Vt, however the center for yellow ware production was in East Liverpool, Oh. This ware became popular in the late 1940's as a collectible and has become popular as accessories in decorating today.. The chamber pot is 9.75 inches in diameter handle to rim and is approx 5.5 inches high it has a cream band with green seaweed. The lip of the pot has been repaired, also has a hairline on rim and several chips on the bottom and one small paint loss on cream band.Still a nice example of old yellowware.
