.54 caliber, 6" round barrel. Barrel has a "P" marked at the breech on left side. Lockplate marked N.P. Ames, Springfield Mass, at the rear of lockplate marked USN and dated 1845. Brass triggerguard and front band, swivel ramrod. Walnut stock. Condition: Barrel is dark brown with pitting around the percussion bolster. Brass has a nice dark patina. Stock has a small hole through at the butt. Stock has some nicks and dings.
