U.S. BIDDING ONLY ON THIS ITEM You are bidding on a MODEL 1891 ITALIAN CARCANO BAYONET . This model replaced the Vetterli model 1870/87. It was used from the period 1891 into WWII, and was designed to fit the Italian Model 1891 & 1891/41 Carcano Infantry Rifle. The overall length of the bayonet is 16 1/4", and the blade is 11 3/4" long. The serial number, "C8186", is stamped into one side of the crossguard and, the manufacturers name, "C.GNUTTI 1942" is stamped into the other side. The blade has a reddish brown finish over 75% of the blade. The finish is worn on both fullers and the first 1 1/2" of blade. This was most likely caused by the insertion & removal from the scabbard. As shown in the photos t are a couple of very small nicks in the blade. For a bayonet that is 65 years old, I'd say it is in good to very good condition . The following website gives a lot of background on the bayonet from an Italians point of view: /schede/BAIO/Baio_Carcano.htm The bayonet is being sold AS-IS, so please look at the photos carefully. Do not hesitate to ask any questions before bidding. Payment is due within seven days from the end of the auction. PAYMENTS ACCEPTED: Money Order, Cashiers Check, or Personal Check. If personal check is used, allow seven to ten days to clear! Shipping and handling is $16.00 including insurance. For Alaska, and
