You are Presented with "Cycles" a Unique Sculpture Series by Rick McCraryThis sculpture is 100% Stainless Steel with Dichroic Glass.This Piece measures 48" X 12" and projects off the wall a full 1 inch.The bottom edge of the panel has been rolled to soften the edge as it meets the wall.All corners have been welded, smoothed and blended for a unified structure.This sculpture utilizes a new sculpting technique that makes the elegant polished spiral design elements visually float off the softly etched stainless steel. The piece is also affected by lighting conditions in the room, looking very different at night as compared to daytime.One can get a sense of this by viewing the images closely.But images don't really capture this amazing effect. A circular opening has been cut away among the graceful spirals and is inlaid with a large piece of rippled dichroic glass.The beautiful dichroic glass has the unique property of changing colors from bright blue to deep purple to emerald green depending on the viewing angle.Dichroic glass is formed in a vacuum furnace w exotic metals are vaporized and deposited on the glass surface creating a permanent colored metal film.This metallic coating reacts with light in a magical way.I think "Cycles" will give you a departure from your everyday activitiesand inspire you to think about life in a positive
