30B3 Magirus-Deutz 6 Wheel Crane (1961) Code #4 Extremely Rare Grey Plastic Wheels! Moko Lesney Matchbox You could be bidding on a EXCELLENT condition Moko Lesney Matchbox 30B3 Magirus-Deutz 6 Wheel Crane (1961) Code #4. This is a very early variation code 4 has many special changes unique to this model. This model is painted dull silver with the early variation bright, orange crane jib. The baseplate is black. The silver paint is superb and very nearly flawless. The bright, orange paint on the crane jib is excellent with some minor imperfections on the arm. This model is one of the most complicated pieces to collect in the early Lesney Series B line because of the high number of standard code variations, currently 30, and likely to increase with time. The short four (4) year production run of the model, further complicates its proper collection. Not many of the Magirus-Deutz 6 Wheel Crane made in any variation. The crane has a Body Type 1 , Crane Jib Type 1, with Smooth Baseplate. (No Ridges). Body Type 1 clearly shows the casting of the strap covering the fuel tank. There is no rear brace on the rear, underside of the body, beneath the crane jib mount . Jib Type 1 has an open end of webbed metal construction . The base of the Jib also is open with no supporting brace. Hook Type--Thin, Orange, Metal, 20mm hook (missing) Hook Pin Assembly—Biff Rivet The Thin, 20mm, Orange, Metal hook had been held in place by a biff rivet type hook pin assembly. One of the points that makes the code 4 variation of this model such a remarkable find, in any condition, let alone in as excellent condition as this specific model here, is the extremely rare use of the small variation measuring only 9 x 20 (or 9mm x 2.0mm). This model is the LAST of only TWO (2) of the 30 or more different code variations had production runs with this type of 9 x 20 Grey Plastic Wheels. The use of these 9 x 20 Grey Plastic Wheels was quite likely a hold-over from two pre-production models. Experienced collectors will appreciate the higher start price as just and even on the low end.
