Monastery Brass Wall Mount Door Bell Latin "Qui Me Tangit Vocem Meam Audit" "HE WHO STRIKES ME, HEARS MY VOICE"This is a Vintage Wall Mount Large Brass Monastery Door Bell. This brass door bell is also a very decorative bell. It is very ornate and measures 13" in length, 20" including chain and pull handle, x 6" wide and 6" deep when mounted. The bell itself is large and heavy and measures 6 1/2" in length x 3 3/4" in diameter. Total weight is nearly 4 lbs. It has the original clapper and provides a nice loud ringing sound. This beautiful bell looks like an antique with hammering and worn casting detail. There is a beautiful winged angel on the top front over the bell. There is not a counterweight to the chain and pull handle which I think was supposed to be a bird. The rear hanging plate has a Victorian style with 2 top and bottom rectangular holes for wall mounting. I don't have the mounting screws. There is lettering around the top of the bell "QUI ME TANGIT VOCEM MEAM AUDIT" which translates to "He Who Strikes Me, Hears My Voice". The outside of the bell is ornately decorated with animals and objects. The Bell rings by pulling the handle down and it moves the bell to the side which forces the clapper to strike the side and make the sound. All parts are in good working condition. The brass is still somewhat shiny. Made in Taiwan read more
