The pen is in wonderful condition and works wonderfully. Small scratch at bottom of pen which Camera will not pick up, Apart from this no scratches or defects at all , pen needs ink refill. Legend among Pens and a masterpiece of our time. Barrel and Cap are made of black precious resin and Is inlaid with the Mont blanc star. Has gold plated clip and three gold plated rings with Mont blanc meisterstuck embossed around the middle ring. Bought in 1995 pen has hardly been out of its original box until I decided to sell it.
