__________________ This is a REAL PHOTO postcard captioned "MAIN STREET - HELENA, MONTANA. 1870". Famous early Helena image shows one of the first recorded main street scenes of Helena when she was just six years old. Six years earlier ,miners known as the Four Georgians discovered gold on Last Chance Gulch, fairly close to the scene in this image. NOTE that this is a REPRODUCTION of an early photograph. Image clarity is quite good and you can see business signs on both sides of the street, including BELMONT SALOON at right and UNION BREWERY at left. Several other signs require a magnifying glass to see. Postally unused; Kodak stampbox; circa 1950. Photographer is not identififed, but could be a Bundy or Train image. In near very good condition with slight corner and edge wear; small light stains in a couple of spots. Even though this card is relatively new, it is not common. I have only seen 4 or 5 of these cards in over 20 years of collecting Helena postcards.
