Montgomery Wards Airline Tombstone Radio ~ Mid 1930's 's a nice looking Airline tombstone radio that was put out by Montgomery Wards in the mid 1930's, probably '35 or '36. Radio is model number 62-162. Radio is in very good condition for its age, and although it has a couple of veneer repairs, and has been varnished or refinished sometime in the past, it still looks really good and is really solid. Dial lens and Bakelite bezel are t and in good shape. All the original knobs are still t Overall, the radio is very clean. Radio also looks like it has a new bottom on it. I plugged it in and although it lit up, I was only able to get a loud hum out of it. This radio came from a local antique store "going out of business" auction just last week. Selling this clean tombstone radio with NO RESERVE! Buyer pays the postage. Figure about a 25 pound ship weight after packing. Good luck!
