Specifics The members of this large Moqui couple have a diameter of roughly 33 mm. Together they weigh 2.60 oz (73.8 g). Each Moqui carries a slight magnetic charge, which you can feel as you rotate them about each other. Each Moqui ball has areas of relative magnetic strength and it requires patience and sensitivity to find the areas of strength. This pair has a unique magnetic field that projects particularly broadly from the Moquis. So what are these things? I've been able to locate a limited supply of Moqui which were acquired from a now defunct rock shop. Moqui are increasingly hard to get, because they are located on national park land controlled by the Federal government, which has tightly restricted collection of these curious objects. Moqui (or Moki) balls come from the Navajo Sandstone Formation in Utah. These elliptical or round balls of compacted sandstone are encased in a shell of hematite (an ore of iron).
