Tall Imperial Octavo, 11-1/2" x 7-1/2"; xx + 337pp. Bound in red cloth, with elaborate Tudor Roses patterns in gilt. Illustrated with 186 b&w photographic plates. Estates covered: Blickling Hall in Norfolk, Knole in Kent, Cotehele in Cornwall, Glamis in Forfarshire, Levens Hall in Westmoreland, Mount Edgcumbe in Cornwall/Devonshire, Wilton House in Wiltshire, Longleat, also in Wiltshire, Rufford Abbey in Nottinghamshore, Compton Wynyates in Warwickshire, Naworth Castle in Cumberland, and Inveraray in Argyleshire. CONDITION: Internally fine; the binding is solid, the text is clean & neat with no foxing or edgetoning. Inner joints not split. The covers show wear at the tips and the head & tail of spine. The entire front cover has uniform spotting and sunfading. Spine shows sunfading on the right-hand side. Not the prettiest book on the shelf anymore, but an excellent reference nontheless!
