This coin has VERY few scratches on it, and the rubs are VERY minimal, you can make out the lines on the coins obverse and reverse fairly well. It is very clean. This is the very first time I have taken this coin out of its' plastic holder since acquiring it in 1979. I consult with a local jewelry shop in my hometown who I have the utmost respect for when it comes to coins and/or jewelry, and they assured me the cloths they sell are harmless and non-damaging to use when handling coins, which is what I used to handle this coin with after I opened the case to take pictures of it when handling it. It has a large letter "D" on the reverse representing the Denver Mint. I did the best I could to take shots of the edges on this coin for your inspection, and counted even the "smallest" inclusion on the reeded edge. I counted a total of at least "10" dingers on the edges total, and I counted the spots that were so small, that probably a lupe would really be necessary in order to see it clearly. This auction has NO RESERVE and I am beginning it at .99 cents, so what it ends up selling for is what it garnishes. Obviously it wouldn't be worth the cost to have graded, but it sure would make a nice starter coin for that little tyke in your life, and hopefully to eventually add to their little nest egg over time as they get older.
