PERU is one of the most biologically diverse countries in the world. Tfore, it is not surprising that PERU is home to at least 3,700 species of butterflies, equaling 20% of the worlds total 18,000 species. Other countries with vast amounts of butterflies include: Brazil and Ecuador (3200), Venezuela (2300), Europe (441), and North America (679). In two National Reserves / Parks in PERU, Manu National Park and Tambopata-Candamo National Reserve , they have found more than 2,400 species of butterflies.
