This is a reconstructed cranium belonging to what is referred to in the trade as M. anaceps from Khouribga Morocco. It's made from Mosasaur bone Mosasaur teeth and filler . They sell for about 3 to 4 X what I'm offering this one for . These are produced for the fossil trade in , Erfoud Morocco Mosasaurs were large Marine Reptiles that evolved from land dwelling Monitors that due their aquatic lifestyle developed Whale like fins from their legs and feet. They were the largest "lizards" that ever lived . This fossil was collected from the famous Khouribga phosphate pits in Morocco from a 65 million year old late Cretaceous deposit. Remains have also been collected from other locales all around the globe from this Genus. I have collected Mosasaurus teeth and a skull alongside Placenterias meeki and Thallasimodon remains in the Carlisle Formation and Greenhorn Shales , Western Interior Seaway deposits near Model Colorado. I have also found Mosasaurus teeth and bone west of Trinidad Colorado in what I think was the Raton Formation if I remember correctly. This animal was a ferocious predator with jaws that could dis-articulate to accommodate the consumption of larger prey just like its land dwelling relatives .
