Offering for sale, a very rare vintage real photo postcard of the Mount Union College football team of 1908. The postcard is postmarked November 4th from Alliance, Ohio. Its written message discusses beating Muskingum by 11 to 0, and the results of the current football season. Research shows that the team record that year of 6 games with 4 wins and one tie is correct up to the November 4th date. The writer (Joe) says he wrote the card "today" the on date (November 3rd) of the Muskingum game; he has the score wrong at 11 to 0 (the actual score was 12-0). Its back contains a written message to Mingo Junction, Ohio and talks about a Pine Hill Academy. The back of the card has a little soil (see the scan).This is a nice (and very rare) sport's collectible for one of America's most successful college football programs.
