Up for sale is an extremely rare Mount Washington toothpick holder. All I can say is that this particular toothpick holder looks absolutely identical to the "peachblow with hand painted flowers" example shown on page 139 of Bredehoft"s glass toothpick holders book, 2nd edition. I took it to a three antique dealers and they all agreed with the comparison but didn't want to make a guess. Regardless the book value is at least $550 and who knows maybe a heck of a lot more. How do you value something this rare? I'll let you be the judge. Since I have been seriously collecting on Ebay this is the only one I've seen for sale and that goes back almost a year. As far as the condition, simply put, it is immaculate. For being 122 years old the flowers are perfect, without a petal missing. I have examined every square centimeter of it and t isn't even the slightest nick on it. No chips, cracks, etc. It looks perfect to me. Most people would agree that MT Washington put out arguably the finest, classiest toothpick holders in the world. This is a seldom offered opportunity to own a piece of that legacy. No reserve, no high starting bid,(hopefully t will be at the end) Good luck, and thank you for looking.
