LEPIDOLITE SPHERE WITH COLLECTOR INFORMATION CARD AND POUCH Mouse over images to see enlarged version This auction is for the actual stone pictured. Hand not included. We were very fortunate to run across a gentleman who works in the mine in Mozambique where this material is found. We have seen lots of Lepidolite, and whereas it often has some sparkle in it, never have we seen anything even close to this.It apparently comes from only this one mine, and has to be seen to be believed.Further, Lepidolite is by nature a somewhat softer and porous stone. Consequently, it often can be difficult to polish. This Lepidolite is apparently harder than the standard version, and takes a polish much like agate or jasper. THE SURFACE OF THIS SPHERE IS COMPLETELY SMOOTH.If you are wondering if the sphere will “light up” for you like it does in the photos... well, that depends.If you live in a cave (a very dark one) the answer is no. Otherwise, you will not believe the sparkle that you will see in this sphere, even in natural ambient light. If you hold it in sunlight or under a light source, your only possible response will be WOW!Any collector, especially any sphere collector, will be absolutely thrilled with this specimen.
