E-3 AA Diesel Engine Set w/Proto-Sound 2.0 -
Union Pacific
For many railfans, EMD's E-Series symbolizes all that was right about the golden age of passenger service. In the middle of the Great Depression, General Motors asked its Detroit stylists to design a sleek streamlined engine to head up consists of the lightweight passenger cars that had become fashionable. And because diesels did not have the pulling power of steam engines, these new units needed to be equipped to run in multi-unit lash-ups when more horsepower was needed to pull a long train. In addition to their modern appearance and multiple-unit capabilities, the E-series engines were also safer for the cab crew than the earlier box cabs, which put too little protection between the enginemen and any foreign object that might appear on the track.
Now you can enjoy watching these landmark engines streak by at the head of a glamorous passenger train, in the colorful markings of the Central of Georgia, Chicago NorthWestern, New York Central, Southern and Union Pacific railroads.
Add a B-unit for the Classic ABA configuration!
Did You Know?
EMD's hugely successful and long-lived 567 engine was first used in the E-3. The 567 raised the engine's rating to 2000 horsepower instead of the 1800 horses that gave the original E-units their name, but the series kept the "E" designation as long as they were in production.

My track record has been perfect to date with 0 negative feedbacks so ! I am a model railroader and have purchased numerous trains and miniatures on line and know the importance of careful packing and timely shipping. When I buy something new I am very anxious to receive it. I try to supply the exact service that I would want as a buyer. I know how delicate certain details and parts are. Your carefully packaged item will reflect this!

Shipping: Your item will be carefully packaged and wrapped and mailed out to you within 2 days of the auctions end. I try to get to the post office at least 3 to 4 times a week so chances are your item will be out to you and in the mail The next day! I will combine shipping rates on multiple purchases ending with that same week to save you Money! Combined shipping rates are 40% to 50% of the original rate depending on the weight for each additional item.

Insurance: I try and give the option of adding insurance as to keep shipping cost to a minimum.... God knows the post office is pricey to begin with! However on heavier items and more expensive items Insurance will now be Mandatory and already worked into the standard shipping cost. I apologize if this affects the final cost but according to eBaY policy it is a necessity!
