I am downsizing my studio a bit and since I have 2 other E-Mu Proteus series synths, this one is up for grabs. The Proteus FX has 512 voices and many more programming effects than the more popular Proteus 1, 2 & 3. This unit sounds great and has a lot more voices than the Proteus 1 & 2. The standard 128 voice per bank convention appears in this series for the first time in the E-Mu line. One of the most under rated units out there! The voices are mostly sampled with the exception of the synth pads. A piano is a real sampled piano, a cello is a real sampled cello and the range of each sampled instrument is observed. You can't play a violin in the lowest octave for example. This is a great sounding synth and packed with high quality voices. Want the E-Mu sounds for not much money? It also adds two digital effects processors with reverb, delay,chorus and more. Surprisingly, the FX surpasses other Proteus models in many ways but it is also the least expensive model!
