MURANO MARTENS AURELIANO TOSO JACK IN THE PULPIT VASE RARE AZZURRO BIANCO MEZZA FILIGRANA VASE Wonderful vase from Murano, an island in the Venetian Lagoon. This vase with its rare shape reminds us to the early years of the twentieth century, the period of Art Nouveau and Jugendstil. It is the famous shape of Tiffany and Loetz. On the other hand, the technique gives us much clues in the direction of Aureliano Toso, a manufactory, famous for its art glass under the artistic leadership of Dino Martens. His mezza filigrana's in a two colored technique are famous all over the world. This vase shows an early example, which is identified by an unpolished pointil in the heart of the base. The vase is rather heavy, the glass rather thick and touched with the fingertips you can feel the colored cannes, melted and merged in a clear wonderful quality glass. a - Description: Mezza filigrana Azzurro Bianco. b - Year of Design: Design from the early years of the twentieth century. c - Origin: Italy, Murano and attributed to Areliano Toso. d - Year of production: First half of the twentieth century. e - Material and Technique: Art glass in the famous mezza filigrana technique. f - Dimensions and Weight: Height: 27 cm. = 10,6 inch.
