Early 1890 Kickapoo Plug Tobacco card of Geronimo, Apache. This series is designated N570. The Geronimo card is one of four in the set of well-known 19th century Indian personalities. This colored litho card was lithographed by Geo. S. Harris & Sons, Philadelphia. The card has been ink-stamped on the back side by the name of the tobacco shop that sold the tobacco, "For Sale by G.L. Long." Someone has written the name "Virna" in pencil across the back top. Kickapoo Plug Tobacco was produced by the Monarch Tobacco Works of Louisville, KY. This card (and the three others in the series) is very desirable and quite scarce. This card has not been graded, so please study the scans carefully and/or email of you have any questions regarding condition. There is a very light 1/2" crease from the left edge near Geronimo's left ear and a very light 3/8" crease near lower left corner; corners are slightly rounded; o/w in VG+ condition. A very good example of a hard-to-find early American tobacco premium card. Domestic buyer pays $2.50 for S&H; international S&H rate varies depending on country. Thank you for looking and bidding. NOTE: We are putting up the Red Cloud card in this same series tonight, too!
