This is a superb original painting by listed Ukrainian artist Nadia Somko (b. 1916, Konotop, Ukraine) . Subject: Italy, circa 1948.Nadia Somko was a Ukrainian artist, who along with her husband, famed sculptor Sergei Makarenko, moved first to Argentina and then the United States after the War. Her works may be found in numerous Ukrainian collections throughout the world, and may also be found in numerous Ukrainian churches throughout the United States. Her works often depict the turbulent, colorful history of Ukraine and its struggle for independence.Work measures: 11 1/2 x 17 inches. Framed, measures: 19 x 25 inches. Medium: watercolor.
