Old Naga headhunter shield, mithun hide, decorated with animal skulls and goat’s hair attachment. Old combat damage at center and near base. Konyak people, Nagaland, northeastern India. An artifact from a people whose culture was inextricably connected to headhunting. Circa late 19th to early 20th century. From an old Australian collection. Rare.
