ALERT: Price just cut by $100! Last week on eBay!I am selling my collection of vintage books on the exploration of South America and the Amazon. Up for auction is an exceedingly rare book by Lt. W. Smyth and Mr. F. Lowe entitled: Narrative of a Journey from Lima to Para, Across the Andes and Down the Amazon. This is the first edition of this volume published in London by John Murray in 1836. The book has a nice contemporary binding and is in generally good shape. All pages are present as is the map in the text and the two larger maps tipped-in at the end. There is some minor foxing here and there, one tipped-in map has a fold separation, and three plates are missing. The only other copy of this scarce book I've seen for sale online recently (on ABE Books) has an asking price of over $1,000.
