This auction is for an oldie, but goodie. A great original tin, my best guess dating to 1899-1901. This beautiful tin is from the Kennedy Biscuit Company, which was purchased by New York Biscuit, which in 1898 became part of the National Biscuit Company in the original merger. The name on the side says "Kennedy Biscuit Works National Biscuit Company Chicago" and has a tea cup next to the name. This is very early National Biscuit, as there is no National Biscuit logo anywhere on the tin which is very unusual. This tin is in very good condition, with some dents and dings appropriate for a 110 year old cookie tin. It opens and closes with ease. It measusres 6.5 x 6.5 x 2.5 inches. My husband and I purchased this tin in Cambridge Massachusettes in the early 1980's and it has been on display with our collection since then. We have now moved to a smaller house and are forced to downsize our collections as we no longer have the room to display everything. Domestic buyers will pay exact postage via insured Priority Mail only. We do not charge for careful packing and handling. International shipping will be through Ebay Pitney Bowes international shipping services.
