An Authentic Native Alaskan Made Handicraft . A Prehistoric, Fossilized, Mineralized, Ivory piece, thousands of years old, crafted into a frontal section of a ancient Eskimo Sled Runner, by ancient Eskimo Tribesman. The brown colored hues of this beautiful ivory piece, is from thousands of years of the earth's mineral absorption. The size of this piece is 5 1/4" tall, 1 1/2" across the front at the base, and 1" thickness. This item is in museum quality condition. The two carved out sections on one side, is the bottom of the sled runner w it was strapped to the sled. The other side with the grooved marks, is w the sled sat on top of the runner. A Nautical Scrimshaw design has been added to both sides of this unusual collector's piece by Shar, "Hawaii's Finest Contemporary Scrimshaw Artist." On one side is a scrimshaw design of a Mermaid swimming to the surface with her baby, to greet an oncoming Three Masted Sailing Vessel. On the other side, is a Scrimshaw design of a Mermaid swimming upwards holding a netted glass fishing ball in her hands. The scrimshaw is an original, authentic, hand-etched, signatured, scrimshaw work of art, presented to you by Shar's Scrimshaw, a member in good standing with The Better Business Bureau of Hawaii.
