NAVAJO ETCHED HORSE HAIR POTTERY VASE SIGNED BY NATIVE AMERICAN ARTIST T. VAIL This Navajo etched horse hair pottery vase from New Mexico was signed by well respected Navajo artist, T. Vail. The vase measures approximately 3.25" tall x about 4" width diameter at the widest point around. The opening at the top measures about 3"diameter x 2" diameter at the base. Inlay turquoise beads accent the centers of the etched floral pattern which encircles the vase. This impressive collector's piece is without any chips or cracks. The Vail family is well known for their contemporary style of pottery. Each piece of horse hair pottery is a one of a kind. The artist tosses Horse hair taken from the mane or tail of a horse onto the heated pottery while it is in a kiln. The resulting carbon being drawn into the surface of the pot creates original designs and patterns. The finished pottery is a unique marbled flare styled pot. The horse is highly regarded in many cultures, representing the essence of stamina, agility, beauty and strength. This pottery was created with those values in mind. This is a beautiful piece without any cracks or chips. COMBINED SHIPPING IS AVAILABLE! FREE HOLIDAY SHIPPING FAST DELIVERY! (Other Native American listings are available this week.)
