This is a specimen of natural Diamond (Carbon) in crystal form. It is a slightly distorted Dodecahedron. This Dodecahedron Diamond crystal is 5mm long by 4.5mm wide. It is transparent, with a amber-yellow or golden yellow color. It comes from the Zimi Region , Western Province, Sierra Leone. Diamond Facts: ~Diamond is the hardest substance known to man, a perfect "10" on the Moh's hardness scale. It is 4 times harder than the next hardest mineral (Corundum). ~Diamond conducts heat better than anything. It is 5 times more conductive than the next closest substance--Silver. ~Diamond has the highest melting point of any known substance at 3820 degrees Kelvin. ~Diamond (Carbon) shares the same chemistry as Graphite (pencil "lead") but the atoms are arranged differently and the physical properties differ significantly. ~The atoms in Diamond are packed closer together than those of any other known substance! ~Diamond occurs in a wide range of colors with a tendency towards pale yellow .
