Naturecraft "Hopeful" No.804 Hand Painted Stoneware 1969 - England"Hopeful" is a wonderfully detailed figurine made by NatureCraft of Congleton, England. I believe this description to be correct: " Hydrocal Stoneware, developed by NatureCraft from alabaster, is a hard substance specially adapted to fine modeling, colour and detail ."Each piece is hand painted. On the bottom are several symbols in squares as well as a "REF No 804", "REG (the copyright symbol) 1969", "HANDPAINTED STONEWARE", the company name "NATURECRAFT CONGLETON ENGLAND" and the "Crown stamp".It measures approx. 7" tall, the widest part of the base measures approx. 6", and it weighs approx. 1 lbs. 15.5 oz.This item was purchased new, displayed and enjoyed for many years then carefully packed and stored. There is a very tiny paint chip at the edge of the base behind the bench. Otherwise, there are no cracks, crazing or repairs. It is in excellent condition and looks brand new.
