Up for auction is a handmade Navajo sterling silver turquoise and coral watch cuff bracelet by Loyd Notah, 1978.Native Americans from the southwest have used red materials in their jewelry for a long time. It makes for a beautiful combination of colors and contrast and rooted in symbolic meaning. Coral is not found in any ocean of the Americas. Therefore any "red gold," (often called by some artists) that was used in jewelry would have come to the Americas through trade or "Wampum" (trade beads) after the Spanish Conquistadors arrived in 1521. The bright red Mediterranean coral is rare today. The cuff has an end to end inner circumference of 5-3/16 " , an opening of 7/8", is 1-3/16" wide and weighs 59.6g.The watch is a vintage Timex, in very good preserved condition. Mechanical hand winding movement. The watch runs and keeps time.Watch case measures 15/16" (24mm) in diameter excluding crown. The bracelet has the maker's hallmark engraved, Floyd Notah and dated 1978, Santan Ariz.It has been tested and examined for purity and is sterling silver. The bracelet in the picture is the one you will receive! Thanks for looking!Check out my other items for more great deals on Timeless Authentic Native American Jewelry! The Global Shipping Program is the only international shipping service I offer.Questions?Use the "Ask a Question" link at the read more
