The book is a treasure from days long past. If you love NAVAL HISTORY this book is a must have. The book was published in 1919 The book is inscribed Compliments of SIDNEY E KIBBLE who was a crew member of the Leviathan. The book chronicles almost everything about the Leviathan from it's capture (it was originally a German vessel named the Vaterland), to all of its 10 trans-Atlantic cruises. T are sections on it's ARMAMEMENTS & EQUIPMENT , and its ELECTRIC PLANT . T are DOZENS OF PICTURES of crew, passengers, and, of course, the LEVIATHAN itself. This amazing book lists CREW MEMBERS, PAST CREW MEMBERS, OFFICERS, and even INFLUENTIAL PASSENGERS who made an Atlantic crossing on the USS Leviathan. We think the ship was primarily a troop transport to bring doughboys who had fought in the war back home. The book is 218 pages with a few fold out sections also. Richly illustrated as you can see from our pictures. EXCELLENT condition showing light wear. The exterior is clean. The corners are lightly bumped but not scuffed. The spine is tight. read more
