This auction is for a very rare, new, never used, 8 second 35mm film of the NBC Peacock Logo used before the opening of NBC sports shows. The full animation of the NBC Peacock.This is the actual film used by NBC known as the Laramie Peacock as it was introduced in 1962 for the first time at the start of the Laramie TV series.Color of this film is a bit faded as shown in photos since it was made in 1969. This film was never projected or used. It was made to be shown before NBC Sports programs.You can see what the entire film looks like on YOUTUBE by searching "nbc sports peacock"youtube dot com/watch?v=kRQEK_n2LGM" .The sound track has the traditional music with the announcer saying...."The following NBC Sports Program is brought to you in Living Color" This is very rare since NBC has not used film in house for over 25 years and the Peacock Logo was replaced 36 years ago in 1976. IN GENERAL>>> In 1962, on the Laramie series, the Peacock opening was introduced in which the bird fanned its bright plumage against a kaleidoscopic color background. This logo only appeared at the start of NBC color broadcasts; as all NBC broadcasts eventually became color, it was generally used only to open those shows that were produced by NBC itself, such as The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.
