This kerosene railroad lantern is signed on bell: "Dietz Vesta, New York, USA." It is signed on canopy "N.Y.C.L." The lantern's first patent was in 1909, and its last patent was 1928. It has a clear cast globe with raised "New York Central" and "CNX." Note: On bottom of globe is tiny hole 1/16 inch in diameter with a small circle of imperfection, but the glass shows no outward cracks and the hold is not very noticeable. The globe is 4-1/2 inches with a wire guard, a wire ring bottom, and a outside wick adjuster. It has a twist-off bottom with the pot intact, and is 10 inches tall to the top of the bell. The lantern is clean with only a few areas showing slight rust, and is all original. The font was soldered on the base. This lantern weighs 2-1/2 lbs, and its wick is 5-1/2 inch wide.
