The Newcastle Journal for Saturday the 26th April 1746 an important historical newspaper one of the first reports of the battle of Culloden published just 10 days after the battle which finally crushed the Jacobite rebellion. Most of the news relates to the battle with reports from Edinburgh, with letters and reports from individuals present, a rare historical newspaper, a true museum piece. Condition, it’s in need of restoration, stained with ragged edges, tear across back page (with temporary repair) the spine is torn (see picture) we have checked the type around the hole in the spine the edges are folded over and could be flattened none of the words are missing, maybe a few letters, so it can be restored. An important historical paper published 267 years ago, when will you see another probably never.
