Being offered is a rather large bronze, double eagle plaque, by the artist Nicholas Ikaris. It measures 21" x 5 1/4"and weighs about 8lbs. It is in wonderful condition and was probably affixed to some sort of a panel. It has twothreaded holes in the back side. Please see the pictures. I think they're pretty revealing Nicholas Ikaris was born on the Aegian island of Karia, the mythical site of The Fall of Icarus. A 1950 graduate ofThe Fine Arts Academy in Athens, Ikaris received a number of important prizes in his homeland and abroad. His publicsculptures can be found in Vienna, Dortmund, New York City, New Orleans, and Ikaria. He served for a time as a professor at Kingsborough Community College of The City University of New York, "The City Hall of New YorkCity displays his statue THE ASTRONAUT which is dedicated to astronaut John Glenn".
