Beautiful Blown Glass By Rick & Janet Nicholson The Nicholson's have been working in glass exclusively since 1982. Their work explores both transparent and opaque qualities of blown glass forms. Surface design floats over background colors while the asymmetrical shapes further convey the spacial, semi-solid feeling of molten glass. The pieces are made by layering colored glass within clear glass as well as adding chemicals to the surface for coloration. The forms are then blown out and altered. each piece as a unique shape, and the surface treatment changes and evolves. They are one-of -a-kind pieces, related to each other but not duplicated.
