Title: 'Run for Cover' (The Dells) Size: 12x10 inches unframed Medium: Gouache and mixed media on Winsor and Newton Artist Canvas board Ok am giving Northern Soul painting my 100% attention, because I LOVE the scene and painting this series that much, and just maybe I can make it work as an artist, Tesco shelf stacking can wait a bit longer....and I have SO much admiration for David Barrow and Neil Thompsons artwork, one fine day I'll be like them :-)... Original gouache painting that has a matt varnish finish which is both archival and UV resistant, allowing you to frame without glass. On a rigid canvas artist board, it was� treated� to be cracked and have a vintage grunge feel allowing the painting to stand out. A Northern lass� myself, that was sadly not born quite in time (Exactly 10 days after Wigan Casino opened...tut!) The painting is inspired by the song title, and features a chap leaving the building with his bag and white and green Adidas trainers, patches featuring Wigan, Va Vas, Central and Samanthas, Sheffield. The Casino Clubs, iconic signage reflected in a puddle on the ground...hence the title and song inspiration. Currently working on a new website and hopefully a blog, giving a bit more detail about the paintings, my Northern Soul adventures, and my story so far...Also, I shall start working towards having read more
