Hi and thanks for stopping by... Please read entire description before purchasing. This is an actual, original, vintage, genuine, unaltered Nikkor f/8-8mm Fisheye lens (Ser. No. 88848) and has been mounted in a unique, lighted, lifesized recreation of the HAL 9000 computer faceplate "eye" as seen in the DVD of Arthur C. Clarke and Stanley Kubrick's classic 2001 a Space Odyssey , starring Kier Dullea and Gary Lockwood. The lens is quite used and has 2 or so pin prick size nicks which I was informed do not affect performance or imagery. It comes with the lens cap only. I cannot guarantee functionality of the lens, due to not having the correct type camera in which to test it. A same type lens (albeit in better, excellent condition) would sell for over $1000. The lens being offered is not a repro or mockup... It's an actual, 60's vintage Nikkor f8-8mm Fisheye lens. I am showing a picture of an example of the lens to show what it is, for reference only, but the lens being offered is a different one. I did not want to disassemble the piece for the auction. This is the same type and vintage lens Stanley Kubrick selected to represent the eye of HAL 9000, in 2001:a space odyssey for scenes in the film showing the complete faceplate.
