Hi and welcome to the beginning of the end of my camera collection. I sold off many of my babies 7 years ago, when retiring from 32 years of Photography teaching and moving out of NY to NC, keeping the last few hundred until now. After enjoying them for 5 decades of collecting and using and lately behind glass display shelf sitting, it is time for them to go to new homes and start a new life. This auction is for a Nippon Kogaku Japan "pancake lens", in WOW condition. The 45mm f2.8 Nikkor made as a way of using flash bulbs or manual electronic flash "automatically". You would set the guide number of the flash and the f-stop would change as you focus. Pretty nifty for its time. Now, its claim to fame, is its short length and light weight. She sticks out of the body a massive 3/4 of an inch. The lens shows no wear that I can find, and the glass is scratch free, internal dust free, (as far as I can see) and the coating is unblemished. Her focusing is very smooth and her She comes with the Nikon rear cap and the Nikon front cap with the two plastic buttons on it. There is also a Nikon yellow filter that has been sitting on her for decades. All engravings and paint markings are unworn and perfectly legible.
