Up for bid is a tall stately vase with a wider bulbous bottom portion with a fluted rim. Decorated with pink and red mums with shades of green leaves to accent them. The top portion has four tall scenes each a bit different with the flowers and leaves within each...the background color is a soft green. Around each of these is a gold stripe with a row of raised gold beads upon it. Seperating each of these is a blue color with a leaf type of design...these leaves have some gold paint upon them, and every so often there is a single raised gold bead to accent them. The rim has a wide gold band with a single row of beads as well. The bulbous bottom portion of the base has the mums design, and under it is a single gold band in a raised and lowered fashion...and under this is a creamy color going to the table with gold scroll hand painted upon it. This piece measures in at almost 9 inches tall by a wide 5 3/4 inches at the bulbous portion. On the underside in a dark magenta color is Hand Painted Japan with a cherry blossom. See photo. I cannot detect any chips, cracks or repairs to this piece. I do note some typical gold loss, primarily at the high traffic areas such as the rim. A beautiful hand painted piece at an affordable opening bid.
