I'm selling a terrific tin friction near mint BMW Isetta with its original box made by Ichimura of Japan. (Wikipedia has a great article about the history of the Isetta. It was originally produced by an Italian manufacturer, Iso SpA. BMW redesigned the car using a one cylinder motorcycle engine; the early BMW Isetta could be driven in Germany with just a motorcycle license. According to Wikipedia, BMW built the car for about three years and ceased production of the car in 1962.) Most tin toy Isettas are made by Bandai. They made a great many of the 6 1/2 inch car and also a rare version of the Isetta 600. This car was made by Ichimura and can be very hard to find in good condition. This great little car measures 4 1/2 inches or a little over 11 centimeters long and it is complete and all original. The Isetta is in near mint condition with almost no playwear; it appears to have spent most of its life in its original box. With the exception of a couple of paint chips, easily noticeable in the photos, the paint is near perfect. The chrome trim also has almost no wear; it is bright and shiny. The tires and hubcaps are in great shape, as is the base to the car. The friction motor works just fine.
