Description: Striking and highly detailed copper engraved map of Africa from Northern Africa to Benin. The shows also the Mediterranean Sea from Iberian peninsula to Middle East. The map includes the Mediterranean Islands of Sardinia, Sicily, Corse, Eolian Islands, Baleares, Malta, Canary Islands, Madeira Island, Crete and Cyprus. The map gives several details concerning place names, rivers, lakes, mountains . The interior of african continent is blank. Date : 1795 ( undated ) Dimension: Paper size approx.: cm 39,1 x 27,2 Conditions: Very strong and dark impression on strong paper. Paper with chains and wire marks. Plate uncolored as issued. Wide margin to the top. Good lower margin. Wide right lateral margin. Quite left lateral margin, partially missed to the top. Small foxing and browning. Conditions are as you can see in the images.
