This is a nice 7.5" x 10" x .5" hardcover tome, printed in 1963. It details the history of the F-86, and has been signed by:Col. Ken Chilstrom: Flew the 1st USAF flight of the YP-86, 3rd flight overall. A true member of the Golden Age of Test FlightBob Hoover: NAA test pilot who flew this as a test pilot, and flew the 1st flight of the FJ, the Navy version of the F-86. Also credited with "showing the troops how to fly this in combat" during Korea, he is known to have shot down several Migs without credit. NAHFAl Blackburn: Deceased NAA test pilot, was also the back up to Al White for the XB-70.MGENFred J. Ascani: Deceased #2 under Al Boyd at Edwards, he flew this and set a speed record at Edwards, earning the Thompson Trophy that year. NAHF nominee.Col. James Kasler: Not a test pilot, but an Ace in WWII with 8 victories. Also, a POW in Viet Nam who earned 3 (yes 3) Air Force Crosses - the only person to have done so. Also a NAHF nominee, we lost him some years back.As you can see, these giants have signed the opposite of the table of contents page, but Ascani and Chilstrom have also signed it on page 13.Please note, the book itself is in pristine condition, but the bookcover shows signs of wear.
