The APCOur take on the original noize toy - Forrest Mimms III's Stepped Tone Generator (latterly known as the Atari Punk Console), that has been annoying the neighbours worldwide since 1978 or so. The APC repurposes two 555 clock chips and uses them to produce a surprisingly varied and useful array of drones, siren swoops and oddball stepped tones.Sounds especially good with a splash of delay, flanger, fuzz or anything else you may have lying around.Powered by a 9V battery (included), it has 1/4" mono jack output, a knob for each ocsillator, a volume control (a very useful addition to the orginal design, as these things can get seriously loud) and an internal power indicator LED.It sounds something like this (note that the first 30 seconds are the dry sound of the unit on its own, then with some digital delay for the rest of the clip): For more details and other boxes that make boom, go hither , and/or follow us on twitter + facebook
