WELCOME CARNIVAL GLASS COLLECTORS! Item Description: This is a beautiful, old Northwood BEADED CABLE ROSE BOWL with a gorgeous DEEP COBALT BLUE base color- 4 3/4 inches wide and 4 inches tall with spectacular MULTI-COLOR IRIDESCENCE! This Rose Bowl is a feast for the color lovers out t Changes color every time you turn it. I think it is an amazing piece. The base color is a deep cobalt blue, but the glass color on the rest of the bowl is amethyst. A really cool combination of glass color on one piece! I haven't seen one quite like it. The iridescent colors are bold, crisp, vivid and plentiful as you can see in t he pictures. It is an old vintage piece, it does display the authentic, vintage Northwood mark. It is an outstanding example of this pattern and this color. It is super nice on display, exhibiting a rich, glowing iridescence. It is an excellent investment quality piece of glass. I have included several photos of the Rose Bowl so you can see for yourself. It looks even better in your hands as it is always very difficult to capture a piece like this on film and do it justice. You can reference this piece in David Doty's 1998 Field Guide to Carnival Glass or The Encyclopedia to Carnival Glass and Edwards and Carwile. I guarantee this is authentic, early 1900's vintage Carnival Glass! All pictures were taken outside in natural light...no flash. I never enhance photos, what you see is what you get. I do not use reserves, never have, I believe the buyers should set the value, so bid with confindence and have fun...it will sell to the high bidder. Item Condition: ( Pictures are part of the description...and I include lots of them...so please have a look!) This Rose Bowl is in excellent condition ! No chips, cracks or repairs! No major detractions whatsoever. T are a few scattered manufacturing stretch marks, you must really search for them. Nothing u ncommon. The base is very nice, the feet are exceptionally nice with minimum wear present...you must really look closely to see anything at all. T is one tiny fleabite, pen-head sized, on the end of one foot. I pictured it for you. Very small and shallow. I can find only few very tiny enclosed manufacturing bubbles. The rim crimping is nice and even. The inside is iridized, but not in the very center. I think it was made this way and not a sign of wear. T is one tiny pimple of extra glass on the rim done during manufacturing. This is pictured also. That is all I can find on this gorgeous Rose Bowl. I've looked it over hard. I'm being very picky. I included lots of pictures, up close, so have a look. Simply...it is an outstanding investment quality piece of glass. This one is the VERY BEST of EXAMPLES. I collect Carnival Glass myself and I'm picky with my descriptions, like I like others to be when I'm buying so you know what you are getting. And as all of us in Carnival know color is key and you just can't say enough about the color displayed on this Rose Bowl, it has super multi-color! Its a fine example of what Carnival Glass is all about. None of these mentionables take away from this beautiful piece at all . It is an beautiful example.
